Dear friends -
The Session met on Tuesday, and we thought we would give a few highlight updates in the enews each month. Session minutes are always available through the office or our clerk, Paula, as well.
Celebrate with us - after three years of Covid protocols being on the agenda, we have officially removed this item. Session has agreed that while anyone is always welcome to wear a mask anywhere in the church building, there are no longer any designated areas for masks or signs required.
A huge thank you to Pastor Barbara who is working with parents, teachers, and working with a children's ministry support team to assure good communication with our kids and families as well as organizing children's Sunday school on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in this interim time. PS Please continue to be in prayer about a long-term children's ministries director - and nudge anybody you think might be good at this our way.
The Session is continuing to revisit the 1, 3, and 5 year goals set by the Beyond the Barn team - we've done a lot in a short amount of time in terms of diversity and hospitality, and we look forward to continuing in these long-term goals.
There's an open Deacon position, so there was some discussion about the need to fill that - if you know someone who is interested, please talk to Pastor Jess or Kalina, the moderator of our nominating team.
Been a little overheated on Sunday mornings? Building and grounds is getting quotes on replacing our thermostats - phew!
One of the greatest strengths of River Glen is the Session - they have consistently served faithfully, and I'm grateful for their wisdom and care for the congregation: Tom, Bob, Brian, Rich, Paula, Bill, Christy, Andrea, and Kalina.
See you Sunday!
Jess
