CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
PRAYGROUND
Within the worship center, we have a designated area where children are welcome to come play, pray, and participate in worship. Materials are designed and change monthly so that the children can explore the stories and seasons that the adults are also experiencing during worship. At River Glen, we are accepting and welcoming of children of all ages and abilities within the worship space. We want to provide the opportunity for all children to participate and learn about God in their own way, right alongside their parents. Everone is encouraged to join in with the children to establish connections with them and help them to experience God's love through play. The Prayground is open to all!

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday School is available for children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade
and takes place during worship on non-communion Sundays.
Children begin worship with their families and participate in a special message for young disciples.
Afterward, they head downstairs for their own age-appropriate lesson, activities,
and opportunities to grow in faith and community.
On Communion Sundays, children remain in worship and participate fully in our intergenerational service.
During the summer and holiday weekends, children are invited to participate in worship through
the Prayground or alongside their parents and families in the pews

CHANGE FOR CHANGE
On the first Sunday of the month, the children participate in the offering by walking around to collect change. They gather this change and periodically throughout the year, it is counted and the children decide on a cause to donate their funds. This is a wonderful opportunity that our children are able to learn about the giving and receiving of gifts at a young age.
INTERGENERATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Throughout the year, there are opportunities for families to participate in intergenerational ministries. We love to incorporate those young and old into many activities at River Glen including service projects, community meals, recreational activities, and fellowship. These opportunities arise throughout the year and are often sponsored by a range of teams at River Glen. Some of the children's favorites are Trunk or Treat, the Live Nativity, Feed My Starving Children and the Better Together midweek programs.
