Dear friends –

Our Naperville community is trying something new. They tried to do this last year, but… pandemic. However, this year, Naper Pride is going to host the inaugural Naperville Pride Festival. The festival itself is the second weekend in September – the 10th – 12th. Naper Pride is launching the whole week off on Sunday with an Interfaith Pride Service at 3 pm September 5 in Central Park. We’ll be near the concert shelter, so seating is available.

Several folks from our River Glen choir will be participating in the community choir, and there will be speakers from various faith communities – a family-friendly event. One of the leaders of Naper Pride is a member over at First Congregational, and Pastor Mark Winters invited River Glen to participate, because we are allies and a welcoming community. I’m honored to give a short reflection on Sunday as well. I hope you’ll join us – it should be a lovely afternoon on the lawn in our beautiful community.

Grace and peace,

Jess
