Pastor's Pondering - July 30, 2021

Dear friends –

We had a very big Session meeting on Tuesday evening. One half involved ridiculous amounts of laughter and camaraderie as we all pitched in and rented a Whirlyball court for some fun and fierce competition.

The other half was not nearly so fun. For what felt like the hundredth time lately, we talked about CDC recommendations and preferences and safety and protocols. At this point, with new concerns about variants, we have decided to continue our current masking protocols – please wear a mask every time you come into the building and continue to have your mask on until you are in your seat for worship. If you are gathering for a meeting in the building, please wear a mask until you are in your meeting space, and then discuss or vote about whether or not you all are comfortable sitting inside without masks on. Fellowship time will continue to be following worship outside, where masks are optional.

As we have been doing, we will continue to care for one another, including honoring safety concerns with compassion. Should protocols or procedures need to be adjusted, the Session is faithfully weighing considerations in these ever-changing times.

Shift, shift, shift,

Pastor Jess
