Pastor's Pondering - January 22, 2021

Dear friends -

Like many of you, I watched the Inauguration on Wednesday (vacation time, which I was on, blissfully adds space for such engagement). At one point in his inaugural address, President Biden stated: “We will not lead merely by the example of our power but by the power of our example.” As they say in the south, that’ll preach. Churches don’t have a lot of power these days like they once did as a social and community center point. But we have zero power to transform lives if we do not have the power of our example. As we enter a new year and as we think about the ways we live as the people of God, I pray that our influence on the community is a shining witness of our example – in our words, in our action, in our care for others.

What is the power of your example?

Grace and peace,

Jess
