Dear friends -
While I can remember the feeling of sitting on a board with anxious anticipation: the waiting, the loud noise, the drop - all that is involved with sitting in a dunk tank - while I can remember all of that, I cannot for the life of me remember the last time I was in one. It might have been when I was a kid at a church picnic. I have a vague recollection of doing this as a fundraiser either as a youth pastor or an associate minister. Who knows. But what I do know is as much as there is some foreboding when you are in the dunk tank itself, there is lots of fun surrounding it - lots of community and camaraderie, lots of cheering, and lots and lots of laughter.
That all being said, don't miss out on August 14. At 10:30 we will have outdoor worship followed by a delicious picnic provided by our deacons along with fun lawn games and *drum roll* a dunk talk. I guess I'll be refreshing my memory of sitting on a board with anxious anticipation.
