Pastoral Care

River Glen's pastoral care provides personal support in times of need. There are several programs available including:

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry provides distinctively Christian care to members and friends of the River Glen community who are going through a crisis or a time requiring spiritual and emotional support.  Potential Stephen Ministers go through 50 hours of training to learn the necessary skills to enhance the pastor's ministry of pastoral care.  Contact the church office to be connected with a Stephen Minister. 

Group Spiritual Care

Many members and friends of River Glen are in a small group.  Much care is offered and received through these naturally occurring friendships. 

Deacon Care

Our Deacons' primary duty is to serve the church and the community by ministering to those who are in need, who are sick or in distress.  Each household involved in the church is placed in a Deacon Care group which will provide support during hard times to coordinate tangible care as required such as meals, rides, and other meaningful forms of help.  We are also involved in the following missions designed to support our community:  


Families Helping Families
A service that provides empowerment for families on their journey to self-sufficiency.

 



Naperville CARES
Helping the homeless and those needing support in the midst of crisis.

 



Sharing Connections
A service that coordinates the giving of resources for those in need
