It has been just a little over 4-weeks since our Ministry Information Form was posted and we have already received close to 60 Personal Information Forms (PIFs). We have candidates from 27 different states, and more keep coming in!
To help us stay organized and efficient, we have created a system for moving through the PIFs as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
Any candidate we feel is still a good fit for River Glen is emailed 3 questions from our team. The purpose of the questions is two-fold:
1. To make sure the candidate’s vision and goals align with those of our congregation.
2. To make sure they are still interested in pursuing this position. Some may be accepting another call with another congregation, or perhaps their job outlook has changed.
If a candidate still gets a thumbs up from our team after responding to our 3 questions—they move on to the phone interview stage and we will continue to talk with them about the possibility of being our new pastor.
Every week we are continuing to work through new PIFs, discussing the responses we receive from our initial email and setting up phone interviews with candidates. The bus on the bulletin board is moving…but, to you it may seem like we’ve slowed the pace.
God is always working behind the scenes—we know this. We’ve witnessed this happening before in our personal lives as well as in the life of this congregation.
We ask for you to continue to pray for our team, the congregation, and its leaders. Pray that we remain open to God’s leading, believing that God is in us and with us and will place a minister with us in His time.
As always, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask a member of the PNC.
