Community Conversation on Civility
River Glen is joining with other churches and organizations in the Naperville community for an interactive dialogue on civility in our public and personal life. The dialogue will take place on Saturday, February 25, 9:30–11:30am, in the Community Room at Nichols Library. Cassandra Dahnke and Tomás Spath, co-founders of the Institute for Civility in Government www.instituteforcivility.org will be coming from Houston, Texas to lead our conversation. They are co-authors of Reclaiming Civility in the Public Square – 10 Rules That Work. With nearly 20 years of civility experience, Cassandra and Tomás have much to share about what works – and what doesn’t – in fostering a greater civility, particularly with those with whom we disagree. They will share resources and programs available through the Institute for promoting civility at home, at school, at work and in the governing process. No reservations are necessary. Just come and participate – listen and learn. For more information contact Barbara Carmichael, who is helping to organize this event.
