During this Advent season, please pause to reflect on the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Join us each Wednesday at 12:00 noon for a 30-minute service in the Worship Center at River Glen Church. Below is the week’s Scripture readings and prayer focuses since we believe there is power and comfort in praying together in one Spirit. If you are unable to come to the church, we encourage you to stop wherever you are at noon for a moment of quiet prayer and reflection.
Scripture verses: Luke 2: 27–28
Guided by the Spirit Simeon came into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, Simeon took him into his arms and praised God saying, “Master, you are dismissing your servant in peace according to your word for my eyes have seen your salvation, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.
The promise God made to Simeon was fulfilled. Take a moment to think about the promises God has made to you either through scripture or through the Word spoken to you directly by God or someone else. Give thanks for those promises for the hope those promises bring to your life as another New Year dawns.
Prayer: O Lord, God, I thank you for the promises you have given to me and fulfilled through me. Help me, help all of us to trust in you as we enter into this New Year together. We believe that with You all things are possible, that even now unto us a child is born. Amen!
