During this Advent season, please pause to reflect on the upcoming birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Join us each Wednesday at 12:00 noon for a 30-minute service in the Worship Center at River Glen Church. Below is the week’s Scripture readings and prayer focuses since we believe there is power and comfort in praying together in one Spirit. If you are unable to come to the church, we encourage you to stop wherever you are at noon for a moment of quiet prayer and reflection.
Scripture verses: Psalm 46: 10-11
Be still and know that I am God. I am exalted among the nations. I am exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Find a quiet place, turn off all electronics and enter into a moment of silence (5 minutes). Be still. Focus your attention on God and God alone. What do you feel? What do you know to be true about God? Enjoy a moment of communion with the One who created you in love.
Prayer: O Lord, amidst all the noise and chaos of this world help me to be still and honor you by taking time to be silent with you. You are beautiful beyond description. You are great and greatly to be praised. In your amazing power and love all fear vanishes and I am at peace. Amen!
